Best Olive Harvesting Net Catchers

1. Ez4Garden Harvesting Net Catcher

Ez4garden Fruits Harvest Collecting Netting Walnut Olive Chestnut Plum Hazelnut Picking Collector...

Ez4garden has made a great dedicated olive harvesting net catcher to help you a lot when harvesting olives. The net has solid and firm characteristics and is also resistant to temperature (warm & cold) and UV rays. All that increases the net’s life, so you don’t have to buy a new one every year.

It’s made of lightweight material (HDPE), making it easy to place around the olive trees and making it easier to empty the net once you harvest the tree.

Edges are reinforced with additional seams, and on each corner, there’s a hole that you can use to tie the net to a tree or anything else. This helps a lot on hilly orchards when you want to prevent olives from rolling down the hill.

2. Harvest Green Shade With Grommets

Harvest 70% Green Shade Cloth Shade Net with Grommets, Premium Heavy Duty Mesh Tarp (10ft X 20ft)

Another great dedicated harvesting net comes from the brand Harvest. It’s made of high-density polyethylene, which ensures the longevity and durability of the net.

Every 2 feet, there’s a metal grommet, which makes it easy for you to tie the net to surrounding trees or any other objects.

Just like the 1st net, this one also has reinforced edges, but the ones on this net are even stronger and wider. So, it should be even more heavy-duty than the previous one.

3. E.share Black Shade Cloth With Grommets

This net by E.share is promoted as a shading net, which is why the price is lower. Shade nets are just as good as dedicated harvesting nets, as long as the seams are strong and the materials used are high-quality.

It’s also made from polyethylene, which ensures its lightweightness and durability. On this net, there are grommets, too, so it’s easy to hang them on trees and other objects surrounding your olive trees.

This is probably the best value-for-money harvesting net that you can get. So, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, and you don’t mind that it’s not green, you should go for it, in my opinion.

4. Vensovo Net/Shade Cloth

50% Sunblock Shade Cloth Net Black Resistant - 6x20 Ft Garden Shade Mesh Tarp for Plant Cover,...
Amazon Prime

Another multi-purpose harvesting net comes from the brand Vensovo. It’s pretty similar to E.share net, so it’s up to you which one you will choose. This one also has grommets and ideally reinforced edges, so it won’t break and tear easily.

The Vensovo factory also allows you to choose different variations of this net and some colors. So, if you want a 30% shade, you can select it, and they give you options all the way up to 90% shade netting.

Of course, you probably don’t need anything more than 50% for harvesting olives, so keep that in mind if you want to save some money. On the other hand, if you plan to use this net for more things instead of harvesting only, you might want to buy a more dense net.

5. BUDGET OPTION: E.share Harvesting Net / Sun Shade

If you’re on a tight budget, you might want to check this E.share harvesting net. It’s the cheapest option out of all on this list, but there’s one catch. This net doesn’t have grommets, so it won’t be as easy as with some other harvesting nets if you plan to tie it to trees or other objects.

Even though this net doesn’t have grommets, if you keep it on the ground, it’s excellent for harvesting olives, and you shouldn’t have any problems installing it.

The only thing I don’t like about this net is the edges. It doesn’t have well-reinforced edges, so the durability might be slightly shorter than all other nets on this list. However, people are still thrilled with this net, and they like both its durability and versatility.

What To Look For When Buying Olive Harvesting Net Catchers

Now that I have shown you my favorite net catchers for harvesting olives let’s check out a few things you should check when buying them.

Reinforced Edges

  • Try always to buy a harvesting net with reinforced edges. They’ll extend the durability a lot, and you can also drag it everywhere without the net stretching, tearing, or even breaking.
  • Only one option on the list doesn’t have well-reinforced edges, and it’s the budget option. So, unless you’re on a really tight budget, always buy harvesting nets with reinforced edges.

Grommets

  • Grommets are always good to have. If your olive orchard is on hilly terrain, and you have to tie harvesting nets to level the slope, always buy harvesting net catchers with grommets installed.
  • It’s possible to tie harvesting nets without grommets, but it’s a bit harder, and it could untie once olives start falling to the trap, making it heavier.

Durability and Density

  • Most harvesting nets are made from HDPE (high-density polyethylene). However, make sure to double-check the density and durability. The more percent shade, the denser the net (usually).
  • Also, I advise you to check each harvesting net catcher review for durability information. That’s why I like to buy them online – so that I can see people’s thoughts.

The Size of The Net Catcher (Dimensions)

  • When buying harvesting net catchers for olive orchards, you should consider their dimensions. The fewer nets you need to use per tree, the better. That’s why I recommend you buy slightly larger nets so that you can potentially cover one olive tree with one or two nets only.
  • Placing 5-6 nets around the tree may be challenging and will also slow you down once you harvest the tree, and you have to pour olives from the net into the containers for further transportation.
